he first semester of the Bachelor of Science in Optical and Thermal Technology programme lays the groundwork for future studies. Students begin with an overview of optical systems and their applications in Introduction to Optical Technology. They also explore Basic TheTrmodynamics and Physics of Light and Heat to build a fundamental understanding of thermal and optical principles. Engineering Mathematics I provides essential mathematical skills, while Electrical and Electronic Fundamentals covers core electronics concepts. The semester also includes Environmental Studies, offering insight into the environmental aspects related to optical and thermal technologies.
Students delve into more specialised optical and thermal technology areas in the second semester. They study optical systems and instruments to learn about various optical devices, thermal dynamics, and heat transfer to understand heat movement and energy efficiency. The course on Optoelectronics focuses on the integration of optical and electronic systems.
